Some people use removable vinyl for stencils, I have used oracal631 on smooth surfaces like nice wood that is smooth/sanded and not rough at all and it works well. For rougher surfaces and canvases I would suggest using permanent vinyl oracal 651 vinyl for your stencil. STENCILS With stencils I also suggest using modpodge or clear gesso to coat the edges of your stencil. Apply two thin coats and allow time for the first coat to completely dry before applying the second coat. This will help prevent the paint from bleeding out of your stencil and give you smooth crisp lines. PERMANENT VINYL

I use Oracal 651 permanent vinyl for almost all my projects. It comes in a bunch of colors, you can buy it in bulk, it cuts nicely and weeds amazingly. This is the only type of permanent vinyl that I use on wood,tumblers,cups or canvases. It is also safe to use on boats and car paint. When I use Oracal 651 on cups or tumblers I don't seal it with but some people do with dishwasher safe modge podge. Mod Podge Dishwasher Safe Waterbase Sealer, Glue and Finish (16-Ounce), CS25139 Gloss: Amazon.ca: Home & Kitchen I love craftables permanent vinyl for decals on smooth surfaces (especially indoor ones) like windows, metal, skateboards, ps4/xboxs, desks, etc. It's inexpensive, weeds almost as well as oracal and has a bunch of colors. It almost always comes on a cardboard centre so the rolls are never damaged and they give you free transfer tape with every roll!

TECKWRAP vinyl is great for chrome colors and vinyl with cool color effects. I find it has better adherence strength than other chrome colors that companies like ViVViD has available. It weeds well and has good outdoor/indoor life. It works well with any other smooth flat surface.

For print and cut stickers I use Avery vinyl sheets. I have an HP printer at home but I find that the ink is very expensive. I always buy Siser HTV. It weeds well, comes in a bunch of colors and finishes and has bulk buying options available. TRANSPARENT VINYL

I always use craftables transparent vinyl to laminate all my print and cut stickers. It prevents water damage and helps resist fading.

TRANSFER TAPE I like this brand of ViVVid transfer tape the best. It is inexpensive and is a great deal to buy in bulk. It has medium strength tackiness. If I am working with a delicate project, small letters, or removable vinyl I will press the sheet to my clothing or bed sheets to remove some of the tackiness.
